Rev. Dr. Lisa Enders Tunstall is a native of Kimball, West Virgina where she was an active member of the First Baptist Church until she moved to Indianapolis, Indiana. While living in Indianapolis Dr. Lisa became a member of the Second Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She is an ordained clergy, with standing, in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and has served in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) for over 40 years.

She is President/CEO of BMAR (Broken, Mended And Restored), a ministry that brings hope and wholeness to individuals impacted by emotional, spiritual and physical abuse. The BMAR Healing Path meets every Thursday for Bible Study and Christian literature discussions and prayer.

Pastor Lisa is currently serving as Assistant Pastor at McCarty Memorial Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Los Angeles, California, where the Rev. Edward Anderson is Senior Pastor.


Dr. Jonli Tunstall, Vice President

Dr. Jonli Tunstall, Vice President

As a dedicated social change agent for underrepresented students in higher education, Dr. Jonli Tunstall has committed her career and volunteerism to creating programs, teaching courses, and student advocacy. In her tenure at UCLA, Dr. Tunstall has served in a number of formal and informal positions that have contributed to the acceptance and graduation of underrepresented undergraduate students across the country. In her current role as a member of the senior leadership team in the Academic Advancement Program (AAP), Jonli oversees several programs and initiatives that works with first-generation, low income, underrepresented students. Currently she directs two programs as part of the AAP team: VIP Scholars, a social justice college access program, and the Freshman and Transfer Summer Program. Additionally, she teaches courses in the African American Studies, Education, and Ethnomusicology Department.  In addition to these roles, she is the co-founder of the Sister to Sister Institute that addresses the specific needs around the retention and socialization of African American women at Historically White Institutions.   Jonli received her B.A. from UCLA in Psychology and Ph.D. in Education, Urban Schooling concentration from UCLA’s Graduate School of Education and Information Studies. Dr. Tunstall continues to work tirelessly to give back to the community that has always given to her.

In addition to her role as Vice President of the Broken Mended and Restored (BMAR) Board, Dr. Tunstall is also an active member at Abundant Life Chrisitan Church, Disciples of Christ. At Abundant Life she serves as the Director of Worship Arts/Minister of Music and is a part o the church board.  Jonli is committed to the intersection of church and community and finding ways to extending ministry outside of the walls of the church.


Kona has been a Mental Health professional for over 20 years.  She has worked in direct patient care in Special Education in Los Angeles Unified School District. Kona has also worked as a Behavior Therapist at Palos Verdes School District.   She currently works for The State of California EDD as an Employment Program Representative .  Kona states: "I believe a broken life can be mended and restored with the correct amount of resource support and love.  I've personally been mended and restored through BMAR. What an amazing opportunity, full circle, now I can give back some of what BMAR has given me."

Kona is a member of the Abundant Life Christian Church of Los Angeles, California.


Trude Wilson, Treasurer

Trude Wilson is a woman of God who has a heart for serving people. She uses her gift of organization and administration to support pastors, ministers, and her family. Trude’s understanding of domestic violence expanded after attending one of BMAR’s first conferences; she has continued to support the mission of the ministry since that first encounter. Trude has served BMAR for over ten years as a board member and treasurer. She regularly coordinates registration for BMAR events and facilitates at the Healing Path. Trude also serves as a treasurer and administrative support to Sisterhood Kingdom Business ministry, where she has been a member for over nine years.

            Trude is a faithful member of Antioch Church of Long Beach where she serves smiles and a cheerful welcome as a greeter on Sundays. She has been a member of Antioch Church of Long Beach for eight years. When she is not serving, Trude works at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center as a Cardiac Electrodiagnostic Tech II. She is going on 30 years of service to the County of Los Angeles. Trude is married to Prentiss Wilson; she has three adult children and six wonderful grandchildren.

Wehnona is a servant of God. She serves God with her whole heart and has a great compassion and love for God’s people. Her passion is to use the Word of God to transform the lives of those who have experienced abusive relationships or situations. Broken Mended and Restored is the perfect ministry for God to use Wehnona’s passion to transform lives with God’s word. Wehnona is an ordained minister and she has served Broken Mended and Restored (BMAR) Ministry for ten years. Wehnona is a fervent prayer warrior and she serves on the Intercessory Prayer Team at New Day Christian Fellowship Church in Corona, California. Wehnona is the mother of one adult son and grandmother to one adult granddaughter and three young grandsons.


Clare Anderson-Fox is the Vice President of Strategic Partnerships for Everytable, a social enterprise dedicated to bringing healthy food at affordable prices for all communities. In this role, she leads cross-sector partnerships, food service development and innovation, philanthropy, social impact initiatives, and business development. Previously, she served as Executive Director of the Los Angeles Food Policy Council since 2015.  She collaborated with a large network of public, private, non-profit and community leaders to catalyze policy and systems change for a sustainable and fair food system. Clare joined the staff of the LA Food Policy Council in 2011 as the Director of Policy and Innovation. She led numerous programs and legislative wins leading to improved access to healthy food for low-income residents, improved conditions for food workers, and improved coordination among food agencies. Previously, she led a food access investment program at the City of Los Angeles Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA-LA), piloted in South Los Angeles in partnership with Los Angeles County Department of Public Health and a coalition of residents. 

Clare currently serves on Mayor Garcetti’s Los Angeles Promise Zone Leadership Council, the Board of Directors for LA Compost, and was a founding board member of Critical Mass Dance Company. She has a bachelors of arts in Critical Social Thought from Mount Holyoke College, a Masters in Urban Planning from UCLA and all her work is informed by a lifelong commitment to social and racial justice. 

As the wife of Lead Pastor Eddie Anderson of the McCarty Memorial Christian Church - Los Angeles, Clare serves as a Deacon, Trustee and member of the Music Ministry.


LA SHONDA COLEMAN, LCSW, CYT 200

La Shonda Coleman currently serves as Associate Dean of Student Affairs and Title IX Coordinator for Students for Pepperdine University.  In her role she oversees the Department of Health, Wellness and Resilience and serves as Chair of the Student Care Team.  After her first year of outstanding service, La Shonda was selected to receive the Helen M. Young Fellowship Award, in 2018.   This fellowship centers  on cultivating rising leaders in higher education and is named after one of Pepperdine’s  beloved First Lady’s. 

She earned her Master of Social Work degree at the University of Southern California with a concentration in Community Organization, Planning and Administration.  She advanced in her clinical career to earn her state license as a social worker and established a private practice in Larchmont, Ca. in 2015. 

As a licensed clinical social worker, La Shonda has developed an expertise in the area of trauma, embodied clinical therapy and healing and gender based violence prevention.  She is the Founder of Trauma & Healing In Colour (THIC), an organization designed to empower people to flourish amidst adversities through education, training, healing and wellness programs.  In 2019, La Shonda earned her certification as a wellness champion and yoga teacher completing 200 hours of education and training through Breathe for Change an organization aimed at fostering wellness and resilience in the lives of students in primary, secondary and higher education.  La Shonda is also a lead Training Facilitator for programs such the Trauma Resiliency Institute and Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP) Strategies.  

As the first and long-time Director of College Programs for the Rape Treatment Center (RTC), UCLA- Santa Monica Medical Center, she provided comprehensive services to colleges and universities throughout California.  She served as a consultant to President Napolitano’s UC System-wide Sexual Assault Prevention Task Force, reaching over five-hundred thousand students. La Shonda was selected the inaugural recipient of UCLA’s 2015 Excellence in Management, Rising Star Award.

La Shonda is currently completing her doctorate in the philosophy of clinical social work at The Institute for Clinical Social Work (ICSW) in Chicago, IL. La Shonda has dedicated her research to centering the lived experiences of African American students at white dominated institutions of higher education through exploration of the term resilience. Her commitment to and love for Jesus is lived out through her tireless efforts to promote social justice, inclusion and healing in higher education and beyond. She resides in Southern California with her husband and four beautiful children.
